About the role
As our Commissioning General Manager, you will lead the home through commissioning, opening and ongoing operation.
You'll shape the culture, build a high-performing team, and establish the home as a trusted part of the local community. Combining strong leadership with commercial awareness and a passion for quality care, you'll ensure residents, families and colleagues experience excellence from day one.
Key responsibilities:

Lead the successful commissioning, launch and performance of the home, delivering outstanding care and resident experiences.

Recruit, develop and inspire a high-performing team, creating a positive and supportive culture.

Build strong relationships with residents, families, healthcare professionals and local stakeholders to drive reputation and occupancy.

Take ownership of financial, operational and regulatory performance, ensuring compliance and quality standards are met.

Drive continuous improvement and best practice across all areas of the home.

Work closely with Avery's support teams to establish the home as a leading care community.

Lead the home beyond commissioning, ensuring continued growth, operational excellence and the delivery of exceptional resident experiences as the service matures.
About You
We're looking for an experienced care home leader who is excited by the opportunity to open and grow a new service.
You will:

Have experience as a Registered Manager, General Manager or Home Manager within a care home setting.

Have commissioning experience or a proven track record of significantly increasing occupancy and improving service performance.

Hold a Level 5 Leadership and Management qualification (or equivalent).

Demonstrate strong leadership skills and the ability to develop high-performing teams.

Possess commercial awareness with experience managing budgets and business performance.

Have excellent communication and relationship-building skills.

Be confident engaging with residents, families, colleagues and external partners.

Be resilient, adaptable and able to thrive in a commissioning environment.
