We are looking for an Activities Co-ordinator, 12 hours per week over 3 days. Must be able to commit to working every other Saturday. The ideal candidate will have a passion for providing engaging, person-centred and meaningful activities for residents.
Responsibilities will include, but will not be limited to:
- Developing and implementing a diverse range of welcoming and inclusive activities which cater to the physical, mental and emotional wellbeing of residents
- Organise events and in-house activities that promote stimulation
- Collaborate with care staff, Seniors and management to ensure activities are tailored to meet the individual needs of the residents
- Maintain accurate records of activity participation
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of activities to continuously improve the offer.
What the ideal candidate will bring to the role:
- Previous experience of working in a care or nursing setting
- Strong communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with all residents (some of whom will be non-verbal and / or non-ambulant and may have challenging behaviours), families and staff
- Creativity with the ability to organise and deliver engaging activities for all vulnerable residents
- Excellent planning ability to keep a well-managed diary of multiple activities going, at all times with the requisite risk assessments, and other associated documentation, in place
- Flexibility to deliver activities out-of-hours, as and when required.
