About The Priests House
The Priests House is an exciting and busy wedding and events venue located at the historic Barden Tower on the Bolton Abbey Estate, Skipton. We specialise in hosting intimate small and medium-sized weddings and events, placing a strong emphasis on atmosphere, a personal yet professional service, and seamless execution. We believe that a guest's time with us often creates some of the most important memories in their lives, and we take great pride in ensuring these occasions are as special as they deserve to be.
As one of the busiest wedding venues in Yorkshire, we are looking for friendly and reliable Casual Front-of-House team members to join our team.
Role Overview
Our front-of-house team plays a pivotal part in creating the relaxed, welcoming and professional service our weddings are known for.
This is a hands-on hospitality role working alongside our coordinators and wider team. Duties vary throughout the day, so we are looking for people who are happy to get involved wherever they are needed.
No two weddings or events are exactly the same, and the ability to work as part of a team, notice what needs doing and maintain a positive attitude during busy services is important.
Position Details
- Job Role: Casual Front-of-House
- Reports to: Wedding Coordinator / Management team
- Based at: The Priests House, Barden Tower, Bolton Abbey, BD23 6AS
- Pay: £15.00 per hour. Share of tips.
- Perks: Meals provided on shift. 10% friends and family discount for our occasional restaurant services. Training provided. Opportunity to develop skills and work alongside the owners.
- Length of contract: Casual / variable hours
Hours will vary depending on our weddings and events calendar and will include evenings and weekends as well as weekday work.
Key Responsibilities
● Welcome guests and provide a friendly & professional service throughout weddings and events
● Provide efficient and friendly table service
● Helping prepare & decorate the venue where required
● Working behind the bar, serving drinks and maintaining a clean and organised bar area
● Clear & reset tables and glasses throughout service
● Assist with venue preparation before or in between weddings and events
● Help maintain high standards of cleanliness and presentation throughout the venue
● Assist with clearing down after events
● Follow instructions from wedding coordinators and senior team members
● Work flexibly between areas depending on what the event requires
● Notice when something needs doing and take initiative where appropriate
● Other appropriate duties to meet the requirements of the business
Key Traits & Skills
While specific qualifications are not essential, the ideal candidate should possess strong communication skills, a professional yet personable approach, and a genuine passion for providing a service that exceeds guests’ expectations.
Desirable Experience & Qualifications
- Experience in the hospitality or wedding industry
- Maths and English GCSE
- Food hygiene certificate
- Personal licence
- First aid qualification
- Own transport due to our rural location
