Job Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Home Care Assistant to support individuals in their daily lives within their own homes. This role involves providing personalised care, assisting with daily activities, and ensuring the wellbeing of clients. The ideal candidate will be committed to delivering high-quality care, fostering independence, and maintaining a respectful and professional relationship with clients. Previous experience in care homes or home care settings is advantageous, but full training will be provided for suitable applicants. Responsibilities
- Assist clients with personal care tasks such as bathing, dressing, and grooming
- Support clients with mobility and daily activities to promote independence
- Follow individualised care plans to meet specific needs and preferences
- Provide companionship and emotional support to clients
- Administer medication as directed and ensure medication schedules are adhered to
- Maintain accurate records of care provided and any changes in client condition
- Communicate effectively with clients, family members, and healthcare professionals
- Ensure the safety and comfort of clients at all times
- Assist with light domestic tasks such as meal preparation, laundry, and light cleaning
Requirements
- Valid driving licence and access to a vehicle preferred but not essential for home visits
- Experience working in a care home or providing home care is desirable but not essential; training will be provided
- Ability to communicate clearly in English, both verbally and in writing
- Good IT skills for maintaining accurate records and following digital care plans
- Excellent communication skills to build rapport with clients and team members
- Compassionate attitude with a genuine desire to help others
- Reliable, organised, and able to work independently or as part of a team
- Respectful of clients’ privacy and dignity at all times
Pay: £13.50-£16.00 per hour
