Job Summary
We are seeking a professional HGV Class 1 Driver to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the safe and efficient transportation of goods across various locations. The ideal applicant will possess a valid HGV Class 1 licence and have experience in commercial driving, particularly with flatbed deliveries.
Duties
- Operate a flatbed lorry in accordance with all road safety regulations and company policies
- Conduct pre-journey checks to ensure vehicle safety and compliance
- Deliver goods to designated locations in a timely manner, ensuring accurate documentation and paperwork
- Secure loads properly to prevent movement during transit
- Assist with loading and unloading cargo when necessary, adhering to health and safety standards
- Maintain communication with the dispatch team regarding delivery schedules and any issues encountered during journeys
- Complete all required logs, reports, and vehicle inspection forms accurately and promptly
- Follow all legal requirements related to driving hours, tachograph regulations, and road safety
Skills
- Valid HGV Class 1 licence recognised in the UK
- Proven experience in commercial driving, particularly with flatbed vehicles or similar equipment
- Strong knowledge of road safety regulations and best practices for secure cargo transport
- Excellent driving skills with a clean driving record
