Job Summary
We are looking for enthusiastic and reliable individuals to join our team as a Chip Timing Technician. As a Chip Timing Technician, you will be responsible for accurately timing various sporting events across the UK using our chip timing technology. This is a great opportunity for entry-level individuals looking to gain experience in the events industry and be a vital part of event operations.
Pay
The starting wage for a Chip Timing Technician is between £15 and £20 per hour subject to experience.
We offer day rates of £150 to £200 when the event duration is over 6 hours inclusive of travel time.

Key Responsibilities
- Set up and operate timing equipment effectively at assigned events
- Ensure accurate recording of participant data and timings is collected, then transferred onto our operating system.
- Coordinate with event organizers and participants accordingly throughout each event to ensure a seamless experience.
- Represent Race Timing Solution's core values and be professional when involved in any aspect of the company's responsibilities
- Troubleshoot any technical or physical issues with timing equipment at the (training is provided on this and a fantastic support system)
- Complete the event set-up and clear down of all the RTS equipment in plenty of time to ensure the event schedule is not disrupted
- Support with any participant's inquiries raised on-site promptly and in alignment with the company-trained expectations
- Report any issues or concerns with the RTS equipment to your Team Leader or the Operations Manager via the feedback system.
- Provide honest event feedback, to support the company and individual development

- Must have a full standard manual UK driving license

What to Expect Once You Have Applied?
Step 1
If we think you could be a good match for our team, we will invite you to an event to provide you opportunity to see the events we operate and allow us the opportunity to get to know you further. This is an opportunity to you to shadow from an experienced member of staff.
Step 2
We will invite you to a second event when you will have the opportunity to get more involved and demonstrate your understanding of the expectations and requirements for the role. We will be assessing your abilities at this stage.
Step 3
If we think you are a good fit for the role we will then invite you to 4 more events to train you up on our industry leading course to ensure you are provided all the equipment and resources to start to chip time independently.

Race Timing Solutions Ltd are one of the country’s leading Sports Timing companies. We have been providing race times, and event equipment hire for various sports events across England, Scotland and Wales for over 12 years. Events such as Triathlons, Marathons, Obstacle Course/Mud Races, Cyclocross, School and Charity Sportives etc.
We are looking for staff to join our part-time event support teams and assist in providing timing, results, and equipment to events across the UK at the weekends. One of our core values is that we work as one unit and are very determined to support every member of Race Timing Solutions (RTS), to create an excellent work and home life balance. Although this position is part-time, should we see you fit well into the company, then we always look for opportunities to bring people on full-time where possible.
