Highlands Care Solutions has a 2 bedroom children’s home. This role will be in Eastleigh.
We are looking for a Deputy Manager to support the Registered Manager and Senior team and support staff who care for children who can display challenging behaviour and present with emotional and behavioural difficulties. Children and Young people will be helped to build resilience and develop self-esteem through the therapeutic support and care of the staff team.
We are looking to recruit a Deputy Manager to help lead the home and support the Registered Manager who are passionate about providing child centred care and creating a home where children and young people feel cared for, safe and have a sense of belonging.

What will I do as a Deputy Manager for the Residential Children's Home?
· Support the Registered Manager to embed the ethos of the home.
Ensure Ofsted regulations are met.
Deputise in the absence of the RM to cover annual leave
Cover shift for Seniors in their absence.
Prepare rotas.
Complete children’s Care plans, risk assessments and all other associated documents.
Complete workforce development plans and the Homes development plan.
Attend children’s meetings and liaise with the social care team.
Good at documentation via Clear Care.
Embed the trauma informed approach in practice.
Coordinate Team meetings and ensure house meetings for the children are conducted.
Complete Reg 45 reports and also support the Independent Visitor during their visits.
Ensure the children are appropriately safeguarded at all times.
· Meet the needs of children and young people, using a therapeutic approach, developing strong relationships to support children make their own decisions and actively engage
· Organising, providing, and participating in stimulating activities for young people during their leisure time
Creating a clean and homely feel to the environment for children and young people
Ensuring household tasks and audits are completed to support smooth running of home
Experience or qualifications
- Level 3 Diploma for Residential Childcare is required. Highlands Care can support you to achieve Level 5 qualification whilst working and gaining experience
Required
- Flexibility in working hours; The rota includes evening, weekends if required
- Hold a valid UK driving licence
- Enhanced DBS
