Role Description
The SIPP Administrator is a full-time, permanent, hybrid role responsible for the day-to-day administration of Self-Invested Personal Pension (SIPP) accounts on behalf of the Obsidian group. The role includes processing SIPP applications, contributions, transfers, benefit crystallisation, drawdown and death benefits, ensuring accuracy and compliance with relevant regulations and internal procedures. The administrator will perform trustee-side reconciliations, maintain accurate member records, and liaise with advisers, members, and internal teams to progress instructions. Daily tasks also involve issuing member communications in line with disclosure requirements and Consumer Duty, and contributing operational MI for governance reporting. The role works within defined procedures, managing workload against SLAs and referring non-standard or complex cases to the SIPP Operations Specialist, to whom the post-holder reports.
Essential Requirements
- Experience administering multiple aspects of the SIPP member lifecycle.
- Experience supporting reconciliations or financial operational controls within a regulated environment.
- Working knowledge of the regulatory framework applicable to SIPP administration, with willingness to develop broader technical knowledge.
- Ability to manage workload against SLAs within defined procedures, referring cases outside standard processing to the SIPP Operations Specialist and exercising sound operational judgement on when referral is required.
Desirable Requirements
- Experience of Delta Financial Systems (Delta Platinum Pro or equivalent), as the role requires daily use of the system for SIPP administration and trustee reconciliations.
- Experience working within a bare trustee / scheme operator dual-structure.
- Experience operating PAYE/RTI for drawdown income payments and submitting HMRC returns.
- Understanding of Consumer Duty as it applies to SIPP operations.
- Familiarity with CASS 6 and CASS 7 principles.
Pay: £30,000.00-£40,000.00 per year
