Senior Credit Controller

Up to £35,000 per annum depending on experience
40 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 8:30am to 5:00pm

We partner with the biggest names in motoring and finance including AutoTrader, Motors, RAC, MoneySuperMarket and Confused.com to name a few. We are looking for an experienced Senior Credit Controller to play a key role in managing and reducing aged debt, supporting cash flow, and driving continuous improvement across our credit control processes. Key Responsibilities
Credit Control & Collections
- Monitor aged debt reports and prioritise collection activities
- Investigate and provide information for disputed debts
- Monitor payment plans where appropriate
- Escalate aged and high-risk debts to senior management
- Daily update of debt report
- Lead weekly debt meeting with Senior Management
- Reconciliation of debtors on CRM & Xero
- Liaise with internal teams for updates
External Debt Recovery & Legal Liaison
- Manage relationships with debt collection agencies and solicitors
- Prepare and submit debt files to external collection agencies
- Monitor progress of referred accounts
- Liaise regarding Letters Before Action, court proceedings and enforcement actions
Companies House Monitoring & Objections
- Monitor Companies House filings and insolvency notices
- Raise objections to strike-off applications where debts remain outstanding
- Liaise with legal representatives and insolvency practitioners
Experience & Skills required
- Proven experience within a Credit Control role, ideally in a senior capacity
- Strong experience managing aged debt and complex collection cases
- Excellent Excel skills, including reconciliation and reporting
- Experience using Xero or similar accounting software
- Strong negotiation and problem-solving skills
- Confident communicating with customers, debt collection agencies, solicitors and senior stakeholders
- Highly organised with strong attention to detail
