We have a rare opportunity for a full-time permanent Assessment and Review Officer
The Learning Disability social work team is made up of social workers and review and assessment officers based at Darwen Town Hall.
We are a co-located team with health professionals, including nurses, speech and language and psychiatrists.
We are a passionate team, committed to making a difference for people with a Learning Disability and their carers. It is an interesting and varied role. No two days are ever the same!
We work across a variety of settings including people in their own home, living independently or with their families, supported living, Shared Lives, schools and residential homes.
We are a supportive and nurturing team, we regularly have students and social work students on our team. All team members benefit from regular supervision and are encouraged to access training and development opportunities.
We are looking for an individual with experience of working in social care that is interested in joining our team. You should have a passion for working with people with a learning disability, their families and carers.
We are looking for someone with the following skills:
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Knowledge of the legal frameworks that underpin Adult Social Care
- Be highly motivated, creative, with good attention to detail
- Advocate to ensure that people receive the right support, in the right place and at the right time
- Knowledge of preventative and universal services and the ability to develop further links with new and existing services
- Someone who is willing to share their skillset and knowledge with others
