About the Role
As a Senior Pension Administrator, you’ll play a key role in supporting Account Managers with the day-to-day operation of the pension schemes we run. You will take responsibility for the day-to-day administration of an initial portfolio of around 50 SSAS pension schemes, providing a clear pathway towards an Account Manager role.
While you will not be required to provide financial advice, the role demands a strong blend of interpersonal skills, financial awareness, and attention to detail.
You’ll be responsible for accurate and timely processing of scheme administration tasks, maintaining meticulous records, and ensuring high standards of client service.
Key Responsibilities
- Handle general pension scheme correspondence
- Process standard pension scheme investments and disinvestments
- Issue standard reminder letters
- Prepare and issue scheme anniversary packs and invoices
- Carry out administrative tasks as they arise
- Process cash contributions, transfers-in, and transfers-out
- Process pension scheme payments
- Liaise with banks, insurance companies, and investment providers (e.g., investment registration, changing signatories, obtaining valuations)
- Liaise with IFAs, accountants, and other professional introducers regarding their clients
- Handle enquiries by telephone, email, fax, and in writing in a professional and efficient manner
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records using back-office systems
- Follow company procedures and report operational risks to Directors
Additional Responsibilities (as required)
- Set up new pension schemes and IFA relationships
- File HMRC pension scheme and other regulatory returns
- Attend client and IFA meetings where appropriate
- Manage debtor chasing and new business prospect follow-ups
- Handle incoming/outgoing post
- Carry out registrations, renewals, and direct debits with The Pensions Regulator and the Information Commissioner
- Issue pension payslips and pay cheques into the bank
- Maintain stationery levels
- Update internal procedures or standard documents when required
- Coordinate Director meetings and greet clients visiting the company premises
- Undertake any other duties requested by the Directors
