Job Overview:
We are seeking an experienced and reliable Joiner to carry out a range of carpentry and joinery tasks, with a strong focus on hanging doors, fabricating and installing counters, and fitting wall and ceiling boards. The ideal candidate will have excellent craftsmanship, the ability to work from technical drawings, and a commitment to delivering high-quality finishes on time and to specification.
Key Responsibilities:
- Hang internal and external doors with precision, ensuring proper alignment, fitting, and finishing.
- Construct and install bespoke counters, worktops, and cabinetry according to project requirements.
- Fix wall and ceiling boards (e.g., plywood, plasterboard, MDF, OSB) securely and accurately.
- Measure, cut, and shape wood and other materials as required.
- Read and interpret construction drawings and technical plans.
- Use a range of hand and power tools safely and effectively.
- Ensure all work is completed to a high standard and within agreed timeframes.
- Maintain a clean and safe working environment.
- Communicate effectively with site supervisors, trades, and clients as needed.
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Joiner or Carpenter (minimum years 7 years)
- Skilled in door installation, bench joinery, and board fixing.
- Ability to work accurately from drawings and measurements.
- Own tools and PPE.
- Full UK driving licence (or equivalent, if applicable).
- Strong attention to detail and pride in workmanship.
- Familiarity with relevant health and safety standards.
Desirable:
- NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Carpentry & Joinery (or equivalent qualification).
- Experience working on commercial or residential fit-out projects.
- Ability to carry out basic site joinery (e.g., skirting, architraves, boxing-in).
