The role:
We are seeking an organised and motivated Costs Administrator to join our friendly and experienced Costs Team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to begin a career within legal costs administration.
Working alongside our experienced Costs Team, you will provide administrative support in relation to funding arrangements, cost monitoring, fee recovery and case management across a wide range of legal matters.
We are looking for someone who is eager to learn, has a strong eye for detail and enjoys working in a professional office environment. Full training will be provided, making this role suitable for a school leaver, college leaver, graduate, or someone looking to start a career in legal administration.
Duties may include:
- Preparing legal funding documentation and client correspondence
- Assisting with insurance applications and funding checks
- Maintaining accurate records and internal databases
- Updating costs, funding and insurance spreadsheets
- Preparing invoices and cost notes
- Supporting the recovery of disbursements and legal costs
- Liaising with insurers, legal professionals and third-party suppliers
- Assisting with file audits and case closure procedures
- General administrative support for the Costs Team
The successful candidate will:
- Ideally be educated to A-Level standard (or equivalent) with GCSEs in English and Maths.
- Have excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Be highly organised and attentive to detail
- Be comfortable working with numbers and data
- Have good IT skills, including Microsoft Office applications
- Be willing to learn and develop new skills
- Be reliable, conscientious and professional
- Be able to work both independently and as part of a team
