Geo Aggregates Ltd are hiring for a Site based Heavy Plant Engineer. Working as part of a team, you will be responsible for day-to-day maintenance activities which include planned, preventative, and reactive maintenance on production machinery in the manufacture of construction materials. You should be able to work with minimal supervision, exhibiting sound diagnostic skills and be committed to continuous improvement personally, and for the process. All work must meet statutory and health and safety standards.

- Ensure PM tasks completed.
- Ensure plant operates at required operational efficiency.
- Ensure all work carried out is recorded and communicated.
- Ensure site machinery operates in a safe manner.
- Ensure all work is carried out and documented in line with company Health and safety policies.

- Good working knowledge of quarry process and machinery.
- A logical approach to fault finding and diagnosis of a range of mechanical & electrical faults on Quarry related equipment.
- Able to undertake various tasks such as servicing, breakdowns and mobile plant maintenance where required.
- In depth knowledge of a range of equipment across the site.
- Good working knowledge of the site’s mechanical systems and maintenance systems.
- An understanding of proactive and predictive maintenance regimes.
- Flexible with willingness to develop knowledge on new quarry equipment.
Knowledge, Skills and Experience
Apprentice Trained or timed served fitter. Experience of a quarry environment or heavy plant maintenance would be a significant advantage.
BTEC, C&G or NVQ 3 in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent preferred but not essential.
Welding, Pneumatics, Hydraulics, Machining , Hand skills.
