We are looking for an activity leader when our staff are on holiday and to cover sickness. This is to cover activities to put a smile on our residents faces. To make a difference to the residents lives for the following hours:-10am - 5 pm.
We are looking for someone with previous experience to bring joy and fun into the lives of our residents. Enriching and enabling our residents on a day to day basis. To find out what the residents would like to do. To do person centred care. To look to achieve outstanding activities. You need to ensure everything is documented when it was done as soon as it was done or as soon as practically possible.
Responsibilities will include:
Planning and booking entertainers, facilitating entertainment,
Holding resident meetings and food focus groups.
Taking residents out on outings, trips, appointments either individually or as a group.
Provide original and innovative stimulating activities.
Promote independence and choice, meeting residents wishes and needs.
Controlling and maintaining the stock of activities equipment and materials and resources.
Comply with CQC essential standards with emphasis on improving the quality of our residents lives.
Required knowledge and experience: Previous experience of organising activities within a care setting.
Understanding of the types of activities older people enjoy.
Knowledge of health and safety in the workplace.
Required skills:
Ability to plan and organise and make things happen and to put a smile on the residents faces. Find out what the residents would like to do.
Creative flair with a range of practical skills e.g. arts and crafts. Possible singing or dancing , entertainment background / keep fit.
Ability to motivate and engage people with good negotiation skills.
Ability to source and plan a varied calendar of activities.
Able to create an environment where residents feel able
to participate and contribute ideas.
Able to work as part of a team and individually.
Basic PC skills.
