To support the provision of information, guidance and advice as required to the Trust regarding Information Governance matters as part of a wider Information Governance Team which undertake the following functions:
Subject Access Requests (SAR) under the Data Protection Act 2018
Freedom of Information (FOI) requests under the FOI Act 2000
Records Management: archiving of records including filing, tracking and the correct application of destruction schedules
Confidentiality and Caldicott Support
Data Security and Protection Toolkit (DSPT)
Incident Management
Information Risk Management
Information Security
Data Protection Duties
To support the implementation of the Information Governance Framework for the Trust taking into account legislation and NHS requirements as set out in the DSPT.
To assist the IG Manager/Officers in completion of the DSPT.
To be responsible for the processing of Individuals’ Rights Requests and subject access requests under the Data Protection and Access to Health Records Acts. Ensuring that any problems where statutory timescales may not be met are immediately raised with appropriate managers.
To be responsible for the processing of requests under the Freedom of Information Act and Environmental Information Regulations. Ensuring that any problems where statutory timescales may not be met are immediately raised with appropriate managers.
Provide advice and guidance to patients and their relatives regarding their rights of access.
To ensure the Trust's FOI publication scheme is regularly reviewed and updated with the names and post titles of appropriate managers.
To assist in the coordination and implementation of effective Information Governance throughout the Trust encompassing the domains of Information Governance pertinent to the Trust:

Caldicott
Confidentiality
