About Kenex Engineering
Kenex Engineering Ltd is a family-run engineering and fabrication company based in Exeter. We specialise in structural steelwork, bespoke fabrication, staircases, balustrades, mezzanine floors and general steelwork.
We are looking for experienced Site Fitters / Steel Erectors to join our site team.
The successful candidates will be responsible for installing and erecting structural steelwork and other fabricated steel products at customer and construction sites.
The Role
The role will include:
- Installing and erecting structural steelwork on site
- Fitting steelwork, staircases, balustrades and other fabricated items
- Working from engineering and fabrication drawings
- Bolting and securing steelwork
- Using hand and power tools
- Assisting with lifting and positioning steelwork
- Working at height where required
- Loading and unloading materials
- Ensuring work is completed safely and to a high standard
- Keeping work areas clean and tidy
- Working alongside our fabrication and installation teams
- Travelling to various customer and construction sites
Requirements
The successful candidate should have:
- Previous experience in structural steelwork, steel erection, site fitting or a similar role
- Ability to read and understand engineering drawings
- Confidence using hand and power tools
- A good understanding of health and safety on construction sites
- Ability to work at height
- Good attention to detail
- A reliable and hardworking attitude
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Full UK driving licence
Desirable Qualifications & Experience
- CSCS card
- IPAF
- PASMA
- Previous welding or fabrication experience
- Experience working with MEWPs
- Experience in structural steel erection
Training can be provided for the right candidate.
Working Hours
Monday to Friday, with overtime available depending on workload and site requirements.
