Let's be honest.
We're not looking for "rockstars", "ninjas" or people who think turning up for work is an optional extra.
We're looking for reliable PCV drivers who can drive safely, arrive on time, look after customers, and occasionally smile. If that sounds like you, keep reading.
At Moving People, we've invested nearly £3 million in our fleet over the last two years, we're the only DVSA Earned Recognition accredited bus and coach operator in Lancashire, and we've got plenty of work available.
You'll be driving everything from 28-seat minibuses to 100-seat double-deckers across a variety of work including:
- Local bus services
- School contracts
- Rail replacement
- Private hire
- National Express
- UK coach tours
What we're looking for:
✅ A valid PCV licence and CPC card
✅ Good knowledge of East Lancashire
✅ Great customer service skills
✅ Flexibility and a can-do attitude
✅ Someone who understands that "I'm running late" isn't a daily personality trait
We have a fantastic and diverse bunch of drivers who are all amazing. We just need a few more like-minded individuals to join our growing business.
A Quick Reality Check
We're a company that looks after its people. We invest in our fleet, pay well, offer flexibility where we can, and treat our drivers with respect.
In return, we expect the basics: reliability, professionalism, a good attitude and a willingness to do a day's work.
This role probably isn't for you if you're looking for maximum pay, minimum effort, weekends off, every bank holiday free, no early starts, no late finishes and complete flexibility around your personal plans. Passenger transport doesn't work like that.
However, if you're a dependable driver who takes pride in your work, enjoys looking after customers and wants to work for a company that genuinely values its staff, you'll fit right in.
We have an excellent team of drivers and we're looking for more people cut from the same cloth.
What you'll get:
- Basic rate of pay up to £16 per hour
- Meal allowance
- Paid meal breaks (no deductions)
- Emergency call-out payments
- Telephone allowance
- Workplace pension
- Company contribution to the Transport Benevolent Fund
- Free parking
- Health & wellbeing programme
For competent and willing drivers, £50,000+ per year is absolutely achievable.
Flexible Working Available
Not everyone wants the same thing. Whether you're looking for full-time hours, term-time only, part-time work, split shifts or casual driving, we'll do our best to make it work.
Available options include:
- Flexitime
- Staggered hours
- Job share
- Part-time
- Phased retirement
A Quick Reality Check About The Job
Full-time drivers will be expected to work one day every other weekend.
That's transport for you.
The good news is you'll be working with a great team, modern vehicles and management that actually understands driving.
Before You Apply
Ask yourself:
- Do I live within 30 minutes of BB5 4NA?
- Do I know East Lancashire better than my sat nav?
- Can I be trusted to turn up when I say I will?
If the answer is yes, we'd love to hear from you.
If you're only applying because your partner told you to get a job, we're probably not the company for you.
