Location: Grimsby, North East Lincolnshire

Shift Pattern: 12-hour day shifts and 12-hour night shifts
Care Package: 2:1 support
About the role
Health Now Complex Care is seeking compassionate and dedicated Complex Care Support Workers to join a specialist care team supporting a female client in her 60s living with a high-level spinal injury.
The client is paralysed from the neck down with little to no movement and requires 24-hour specialist care delivered on a 2:1 basis. This is a highly rewarding role where your compassion, patience, and ability to provide emotional reassurance are just as important as your clinical care skills.
We are looking for individuals who are calm, empathetic, and committed to delivering person-centred care that promotes dignity, comfort, and quality of life.
Key responsibilities
- Provide high-quality 2:1 complex care support within the client’s home.
- Assist with all aspects of personal care and daily living activities.
- Support with PEG feeding and medication administration.
- Support with tracheostomy care and airway management (following training and competency sign-off).
- Monitor and report changes in the client’s condition.
- Reposition and provide pressure area care in line with the care plan.
- Deliver emotional support and reassurance throughout the shift.
- Maintain accurate care records and documentation.
- Work collaboratively with nurses, clinical leads, and the wider multidisciplinary team.
- Adhere to all clinical governance, safeguarding, infection control, and health and safety procedures.
Essential requirements
- Minimum 6 months’ experience in a complex care or healthcare support role.
- Experience supporting clients with PEG feeding and/or tracheostomy care.
- Compassionate, patient, and emotionally resilient.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to remain calm and reassuring in challenging situations.
- A strong commitment to person-centred care and maintaining the client’s dignity and independence.
- Flexibility to work 12-hour day and night shifts.
Desirable experience
- Spinal injury care.
- Tracheostomy and suctioning.
- PEG feeding.
- Cough assist or respiratory support.
- Manual handling and hoisting.
- Complex physical disability care.
