We are currently searching for a Yard Person / Relief Driver to join our exceptional team at our reputable Tool and Access Hire Business located in Bolton.
As our dedicated Yard Person, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our business. Your main responsibility will be to efficiently manage the organisation and maintenance of our tool and equipment yard. This will involve tasks such as:
- Safely handling and storing various tools and equipment.
- Conducting regular equipment inspections to ensure quality and safety.
- Assisting customers with loading and unloading equipment.
- Maintaining a clean and tidy yard environment.
- Collaborating with team members to fulfil customer orders promptly.
- Providing exceptional customer service and support.
RELIEF DRIVER 1.0 Delivery & Collection 1.1 To deliver equipment to and from customers sites via the shortest route without exceeding speed limits. 1.2 To identify and collect hire equipment from sites and return to depot. 1.3 To actively liaise with Site Personnel to ensure equipment is delivered and collected to meet customer requirements, and in accordance with customer instructions, 1.4 To ensure that customers receive appropriate instruction into the safe method of using equipment. 2.0 Paperwork 2.1 To adhere to and keep accurate log sheets, daily records, delivery tickets, collect instructions and other forms maintained to company standard. 3.0 Company Vehicles 3.1 To ensure the company vehicle is maintained to the highest standard in terms of cleanliness and maintenance. 3.2. To comply with statutory highway requirements for the class of vehicle. 4.0 Image 4.1 To present a professional image at all times to the benefit of the company.
We are seeking an individual who possesses the following qualities:
- Experience: Previous experience in a similar role, such as working in a yard or warehouse, is highly advantageous. However, we also welcome applications from those who are enthusiastic and willing to learn.
- Physical Fitness: As a Yard Person, you will need to be physically fit and able to lift heavy objects and equipment.
- Attention to Detail: A keen eye for detail is essential to ensure proper handling and maintenance of our tools and equipment.
- Team Player: Working collaboratively with our team is crucial to provide outstanding service to our valued customers.
- Time Management: The ability to prioritise tasks effectively and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment is essential.
