Balfor Recruitment is seeking an experienced and motivated Team Leader to join a specialist residential service supporting adults with learning disabilities, autism, ADHD, mental health needs, and behaviours of concern in Stroud, Gloucestershire.
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Support Worker looking to progress into leadership or an established Team Leader seeking a new challenge. You'll play a key role in ensuring the delivery of high-quality, person-centred care while leading and supporting a dedicated team to achieve the very best outcomes for the people we support.
Your Role
As a Team Leader, you will:
- Lead by example, providing high-quality, person-centred support to adults with complex needs.
- Supervise, motivate, and support Support Workers throughout each shift.
- Ensure care is delivered in line with individual support plans, risk assessments, and organisational policies.
- Coordinate daily operations, including shift planning and task allocation.
- Promote independence, choice, dignity, and inclusion for all service users.
- Support with personal care, medication administration, and daily living activities where required.
- Respond confidently to incidents and behaviours of concern using positive behaviour support techniques.
- Maintain accurate care records and ensure documentation is completed to a high standard.
- Support the induction, mentoring, and ongoing development of new and existing team members.
- Work closely with management, families, and multidisciplinary professionals to ensure outstanding standards of care.
- Promote safeguarding, health and safety, and regulatory compliance at all times.
What We're Looking For
To be successful in this role, you'll have:
- A minimum of 12 months' experience supporting adults with learning disabilities, autism, mental health conditions, or behaviours of concern.
- Previous experience leading, supervising, or mentoring staff within a health and social care setting.
- A strong understanding of person-centred care and positive behaviour support.
- Experience administering medication and maintaining accurate care documentation.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and organisational skills.
- The ability to remain calm, confident, and professional in challenging situations.
- A genuine passion for developing others and delivering exceptional care.
- A full UK driving licence (essential due to the rural location).
Desirable:
- NVQ/QCF Level 3 Diploma in Health & Social Care (or working towards).
- MAPA or PMVA training (training can be provided).
- Experience working within CQC-regulated services.
