Position Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and passionate Turkish Chef to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of Turkish cuisine, including traditional dishes and contemporary interpretations. They should be creative, detail-oriented, and committed to delivering high-quality, authentic Turkish flavours to our customers.
Responsibilities:
1. Menu Development: Develop and update menus featuring a variety of authentic Turkish dishes, ensuring a balance of traditional favourites and innovative creations.
2. Food Preparation: Prepare and cook Turkish dishes according to established recipes and standards, maintaining consistency and quality.
3. Ingredient Sourcing: Source and select high-quality ingredients, including spices, meats, and produce, to ensure the authenticity and freshness of dishes.
4. Kitchen Management: Oversee kitchen operations, including scheduling, inventory management, and adherence to food safety and sanitation standards.
5. Staff Training: Train and mentor kitchen staff in Turkish cooking techniques, flavor profiles, and presentation standards.
6. Customer Experience: Work closely with front-of-house staff to ensure a seamless dining experience for customers, including accommodating special dietary needs and providing menu recommendations.
7. Creativity: Continuously innovate and experiment with new flavors, ingredients, and techniques to enhance the menu and delight customers.
8. Cost Control: Monitor food costs and portion sizes to optimize profitability while maintaining quality and customer satisfaction.
9. Collaboration: Collaborate with other culinary team members to develop cross-cultural fusion dishes and themed menu events.
10. Compliance: Ensure compliance with all relevant health, safety, and sanitation regulations, as well as company policies and procedures.
Qualifications:
1. Culinary Degree or Equivalent Experience
2. Proven experience as a Turkish Chef, preferably in a high-volume restaurant environment
3. In-depth knowledge of Turkish cuisine, including regional variations and historical influences
4. Strong culinary skills and a passion for creating exceptional dishes
5. Excellent organizational and time-management abilities
6. Effective communication and leadership skills
7. Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment
8. Knowledge of food safety and sanitation regulations
9. Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required
