About the Role
As a Playscheme Practitioner, you will support disabled children and young people to take part in enjoyable, safe, and inclusive activities. This may include play sessions and trips into the community, such as visits to parks, cinemas, farms, and bowling alleys.
You will encourage participation, independence, social interaction, and positive experiences for every child.
Working Pattern
The role includes:
- Saturday sessions every week
- 50 holiday playscheme sessions each year
- Each session lasts 7.5 hours
Typical holiday sessions:
- October half term: 5 days
- December holidays: 6 days
- February half term: 5 days
- Easter holidays: 6 days
- May half term: 4 days
- Summer holidays: 24 days

Key Responsibilities
- Support children and young people in play and activities
- Adapt activities to meet individual needs
- Supervise children during trips and outings
- Maintain a safe, inclusive environment
- Follow safeguarding, health and safety procedures
- Provide personal care where required
- Help prepare and serve snacks or meals
- Work closely with colleagues, families, and carers
- Attend training and development opportunities
