Location: Hoddesdon Town
Contract: Full-Time, Permanent
Salary: From £36,000 per year
Key Requirements
- Previous experience as a Deputy Manager, Senior Residential Support Worker or Team Leader within a children's residential home
- Level 3 or Level 4 Diploma in Residential Childcare (Level 5 or working towards is desirable)
- Strong leadership and team management experience
- Excellent understanding of safeguarding and children's residential care
- Ability to work a rota including day shifts, sleep-ins, weekends and bank holidays
- Full UK driving licence preferred

The Role
We're looking for a compassionate and motivated Deputy Manager to support the Registered Manager in leading one of our children's residential homes.
You'll play a key role in the day-to-day management of the home, supporting staff, ensuring high standards of care and helping create a safe, positive and nurturing environment where children can flourish.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Senior Residential Support Worker or Deputy Manager looking to further develop their leadership career.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the Registered Manager with the day-to-day operation of the home
- Supervise, mentor and motivate the residential care team
- Ensure compliance with Ofsted regulations, safeguarding requirements and company policies
- Monitor the health, wellbeing and progress of children, updating care plans where required
- Promote a positive, supportive and collaborative team culture
- Assist with staff recruitment, training, supervision and rota management
- Build positive relationships with children, families, social workers, schools and external professionals
- Work a rota that includes day shifts, sleep-ins, weekends and bank holidays
- Attend quarterly face-to-face management meetings at our Head Office in Nottingham
Essential Requirements
- Previous experience in a senior role within a children's residential home
- Level 3 or Level 4 Diploma in Residential Childcare
- Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management (or working towards) is desirable
- Strong leadership, communication and organisational skills
- Excellent understanding of safeguarding and children's residential care
- Compassionate, resilient and child-focused approach
- Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining high standards of care
