Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Children's Residential Support Worker to join our team. This role involves providing compassionate care and support to children within a residential setting, ensuring their safety, wellbeing, and development. The successful candidate will work closely with children, families, and multidisciplinary teams to promote positive outcomes and foster a nurturing environment. Responsibilities
- Provide daily care and emotional support to children in the residential setting, ensuring their safety and wellbeing.
- Assist children with personal hygiene, meal preparation, and recreational activities.
- Implement and follow individualised care plans tailored to each child's needs.
- Support children's educational and social development through engaging activities and encouragement.
- Maintain accurate records of daily activities, incidents, and progress in accordance with organisational policies.
- Facilitate communication between children, families, and external professionals such as social workers or therapists.
- Drive children safely to appointments or outings as required, adhering to road safety regulations.
- Promote a positive environment that encourages independence, confidence, and resilience among children.
Requirements
- Experience working with children in a childcare or support setting is desirable.
- Valid driving licence with the ability to drive safely and responsibly.
- Knowledge of child development principles and experience in implementing care plans.
- Excellent communication skills to effectively engage with children, families, and team members.
- Good organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple responsibilities efficiently.
- Basic IT skills for maintaining records and completing documentation accurately.
- Compassionate attitude with a strong commitment to safeguarding and promoting children's welfare.
- Flexibility to work shifts as required within a rota system; prior experience in residential care is advantageous but not essential.
Pay: Up to £15.71 per hour
