Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Warehouse Operative to join our dynamic production team. The successful candidate will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our warehouse, handling materials efficiently, and maintaining high standards of safety and quality. Duties
- Handling materials through picking, packing, and stock replenishment to meet daily operational targets
- Operating forklifts and other warehouse machinery safely and efficiently
- Managing shipping and receiving processes, including checking deliveries and preparing orders for dispatch
- Maintaining accurate inventory records using warehouse management systems
- Assisting with stock organisation, storage, and rotation to optimise space utilisation
- Conducting quality control checks to ensure products meet company standards
- Loading and unloading lorries, ensuring safe handling of goods with heavy lifting when required
- Supporting mechanical maintenance tasks and troubleshooting minor equipment issues
- Ensuring the warehouse area remains clean, organised, and compliant with health and safety regulations
Requirements
- Previous experience in a warehouse environment is highly desirable
- Knowledge of materials handling techniques and forklift operation (certification preferred)
- Familiarity with warehouse management systems and shipping & receiving procedures
- Mechanical aptitude and understanding of basic equipment maintenance are advantageous
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently for extended periods
- Strong organisational skills with attention to detail in stock management and quality control
- Good physical fitness to handle manual tasks such as load & unload activities
- Flexibility to work shifts as required; reliability and punctuality are essential
