We are seeking an experienced Construction Estimator with proven experience in commercial and residential fit-out projects to join our dynamic and growing team. This is a key role within our pre-construction department, responsible for producing accurate, competitive, and well-structured cost estimates across a diverse range of projects.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in cost control, tender preparation, and project budgeting, with the ability to analyse drawings, specifications, and subcontractor information to deliver reliable pricing. You will play an important role in supporting LCC’s continued success by ensuring our estimates align with project requirements, client expectations, and budget constraints.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare detailed and accurate cost estimates for residential and commercial construction projects
- Analyse drawings, specifications, and tender documents to determine project scope
- Carry out material take-offs and prepare cost breakdowns
- Obtain and evaluate subcontractor and supplier quotations
- Collaborate closely with project managers, directors, consultants, and clients
- Support value-engineering initiatives and identify cost-saving opportunities
- Ensure all estimates comply with industry standards, regulations, and company procedures
- Contribute to tender submissions and pricing strategies
- Prepare bills of quantities, schedules of materials, and tender documentation
- Obtain competitive quotations from subcontractors and suppliers across different trades and work packages
What You’ll Bring
- Proven experience as a Construction Estimator within the UK construction sector
- Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and market pricing
- Excellent analytical, numerical, and communication skills
- Ability to read and interpret architectural and engineering drawings
- Proficiency in estimating software and Microsoft Excel
- Strong organisational and stakeholder management skills
- Ability to work independently and manage deadlines effectively
- Minimum 5 years’ industry experience
- Experience in commercial fit-out, hospitality, retail, or high-end residential projects would be advantageous
Working Pattern
This role is offered on a flexible 3-day-per-week basis. The successful candidate will work closely with our directors and pre-construction team on live tenders, budgeting, subcontractor procurement, and ongoing project pricing across a range of commercial and residential fit-out projects.
Pay: £30,000.00-£45,000.00 per year
