As we continue to grow, we're looking for an ambitious, commercially driven Business Development Manager to join our expanding sales team.

The Opportunity
This is a genuine business development role with responsibility for generating new opportunities, managing the full sales cycle, and growing a portfolio of business clients across your assigned territory.
You'll engage directly with business owners, HR professionals, Learning & Development Managers, and senior decision-makers, identifying training needs and delivering tailored workforce development solutions.
From prospecting and networking through to presentations, proposals and closing business, you'll have full ownership of your pipeline while working alongside a supportive, high-performing sales team.

What You'll Be Doing
- Develop new business opportunities across your assigned territory
- Generate your own pipeline through outbound prospecting, networking, referrals and warm leads
- Build relationships with key decision-makers including HR Managers, Directors and Business Owners
- Conduct discovery meetings to understand organisational training needs
- Present Pitman Training's corporate learning solutions with confidence and professionalism
- Prepare tailored proposals and negotiate commercial agreements
- Manage the full sales cycle from prospect to close
- Maintain an accurate sales pipeline using CRM systems
- Consistently achieve and exceed monthly sales and revenue targets
- Identify opportunities for account growth and repeat business
- Represent Pitman Training at networking events and local business functions where appropriate
What We're Looking For
We're looking for someone who combines commercial awareness with a genuine passion for helping businesses succeed.
The ideal candidate will have:
- Proven experience in Business Development, B2B Sales, Account Management or Corporate Sales
- A track record of consistently achieving or exceeding sales targets
- Excellent negotiation and closing skills
- Strong communication and relationship-building abilities
- Confidence presenting to senior stakeholders and decision-makers
- Experience managing a sales pipeline and CRM system
- The ability to identify opportunities and create solutions for clients
- A proactive, resilient and self-motivated approach
- Strong organisational and time management skills
- A full UK driving licence (preferred)
Experience within training, education, recruitment, HR services or professional services would be advantageous but is not essential.

Interview Process
Stage One
30-minute introductory conversation with the Head of Sales to discuss your experience, achievements and career aspirations.
Stage Two
Competency-based interview with the CEO and Head of Sales, including a discussion around your sales approach, commercial mindset and business development strategy.
