Pro Gases UK is seeking a highly skilled and safety-focused Class 1 ADR Driver to join our rapidly expanding fleet. In this role, you will play a crucial part in the safe, compliant, and efficient bulk transport of Liquid Carbon Dioxide (LCO2) using ISO road tankers.
Collecting daily from multiple biogas plants, you will be responsible for the end-to-end safe loading, transport, and discharge of LCO2 to our diverse customer base across the UK.
Key Responsibilities:
- Safe Loading & Discharge: Safely and efficiently execute the loading, product transfer, and discharge of cryogenic Liquid Carbon Dioxide at production sites and customer facilities, following strict site and product protocols.
- Regulatory Compliance: Monitor and manage your daily driving hours, breaks, and rest periods in strict accordance with UK/EU Drivers’ Hours regulations and the Working Time Directive (WTD) using your digital tachograph.
- Vehicle & Equipment Maintenance: Perform rigorous pre- and post-trip inspections. Continuously monitor the condition of Class 1 vehicles and ISO road tankers (valves, hoses, pressure systems), reporting defects immediately.
- Digital Workflow & Routing: Receive job dispatches and plan time- and fuel-efficient routes. Accurately log delivery details via operational software to support precise invoicing and customer documentation.
- Safety Culture & Emergency Preparedness: Maintain a strong understanding of ADR and emergency response procedures for compressed/cryogenic gases. Prioritise safety for yourself, colleagues, customers, and the public at all times.
- Continuous Improvement: Attend mandatory safety seminars and refresher training, collaborating with transport management to refine operational efficiency and safety standards.
Requirements:
- Qualifications: Valid Class 1 (Category C+E) Licence, Driver CPC, and Digital Tachograph Card.
- ADR Certification: Valid ADR Card covering Class 2 (Gases) in Tanks.
- Experience: Minimum 3 years of Class 1 driving experience, with a proven track record in safe, efficient operations (cryogenic or bulk gas tanker experience highly advantageous).
- Compliance Focus: Deep understanding of UK/EU Drivers’ Hours, WTD rules, and hazardous goods transport regulations.
- Personal Attributes: Strong commitment to safety, professional conduct, physical capability to handle heavy discharge equipment, and flexibility for tramp/night shift rotas.
- Licence Record: Clean driving licence preferred (maximum 6 points; no active DD, DR, or IN endorsements for insurance purposes).
