Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Night Care Assistant to provide high-quality care and support during overnight hours. This position is to cover a sickness / maternity leave. In this vital role, you will ensure the safety, comfort, and well-being of residents in a care home environment or during home care visits. Your proactive approach and excellent communication skills will help create a calm, reassuring atmosphere for those in your care. Responsibilities
- Monitor residents’ safety and well-being throughout the night, responding promptly to any emergencies or concerns
- Assist residents with personal care tasks such as toileting, mobility, and hydration as needed
- Follow individualized care plans to deliver tailored support that respects each resident’s preferences and needs
- Maintain accurate records of residents’ conditions, activities, and any incidents that occur during your shift
- Communicate effectively with team members, family members, and healthcare professionals to ensure continuity of care
- Conduct regular checks on the environment to ensure safety standards are upheld and equipment is functioning properly
- Support residents in settling into sleep or engaging in calming activities if required
Skills
- Strong communication skills in English to interact clearly with residents, colleagues, and families
- Experience working in a care home or providing home care services is highly desirable
- Knowledge of care plans and the ability to follow detailed instructions accurately
- Basic IT skills for recording observations and updating electronic records efficiently
- Driving license is advantageous for roles involving home visits or transportation needs
- Ability to remain calm, attentive, and proactive during night shifts to handle emergencies confidently
- Excellent interpersonal skills to build trusting relationships with residents and team members

Pay: £12.71-£12.96 per hour
