St Mary’s Church of England Academy are seeking a passionate SEN Teaching Assistant! We are looking for a motivated and reliable individual to join the EYFS team. SEN Teaching Assistants work with and support a range of learners with Complex Needs, especially those experiencing multiple disadvantages. You will be required to work with small groups or on a one-to-one basis and will work collaboratively with teachers and SENCO to support pupil progress with the class teacher, providing additional support to learners who require help in overcoming barriers to learning in order to achieve their full potential. Responsibilities
- Provide personalised support to a designated student with special educational needs, including autism and other disabilities
- Assist the student with daily activities, both academic and behavioural
- Support the student’s social and emotional development through positive interaction and encouragement
- Implement tailored learning strategies under the guidance of teachers and specialists
- Supervise the student during lessons and breaks
- Collaborate with teaching staff, parents, and external professionals to monitor progress and adapt support strategies accordingly
- Maintain a safe, inclusive, and supportive environment conducive to learning and development
