This is a varied role covering multiple nursery settings, carrying out planned maintenance, repairs, improvements and responding to maintenance requests. No two days are the same, making this an ideal opportunity for someone who enjoys problem solving and takes pride in their work.
What You'll Be Doing
- Carrying out general repairs and maintenance across our nursery settings.
- Completing planned preventative maintenance to ensure our buildings remain safe and compliant.
- Decorating, carpentry, basic plumbing, basic electrical repairs (within competency), painting and general handyman duties.
- Maintaining outdoor play areas, gardens, fencing and external environments.
- Assembling furniture and equipment.
- Completing health and safety checks and reporting any issues requiring specialist contractors.
- Liaising professionally with nursery managers and external contractors.
- Ensuring all work is completed to a high standard with minimal disruption to nursery operations.
- Supporting emergency maintenance issues when required.
- Keeping accurate records of completed works and materials used.

- Understands the importance of maintaining safe environments for young children.
- Is trustworthy, professional and approachable.
- Is flexible and willing to travel between our nursery settings.
Essential Requirements
- Full UK Driving Licence.
- Previous experience in a maintenance, facilities, property maintenance or similar role.
- Ability to carry out a wide range of general maintenance tasks.
- Good understanding of health and safety practices.
- Right to work in the UK.
- Successful enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one).
Desirable
- Experience working within schools, nurseries, care settings or commercial properties.
- Basic qualifications or experience in carpentry, plumbing, decorating or electrical maintenance.
- Knowledge of building compliance and routine inspections.

- £30,000 per annum
- 37.5 hours per week
