Position Overview:
We are looking for an ambitious, dynamic and highly experienced General Manager to lead the future of our restaurant in Manchester City Centre. This is an exciting opportunity to take the reins of one of the most highly regarded independent pizzerias in the country and play a key role in shaping its continued growth.
We’re looking for someone who leads by example, builds strong team culture, and maintains excellent service standards throughout every shift. Your focus will be to deliver an outstanding dining experience while supporting the growth and reputation of the restaurant.
This is a hands-on leadership role where your ideas, standards and energy will directly influence the restaurant.
Key Responsibilities
- Full responsibility for the daily running of the restaurant and overall customer experience.
- Lead, manage, and inspire a team of approximately 30 staff (8–15 per shift during service).
- Ensure consistent delivery of high-quality food and service standards.
- Train, develop and retain FOH teams, fostering a positive and motivated culture.
- Manage rotas, staff performance, and ongoing recruitment as needed.
- Oversee stock control and supplier coordination to maintain seamless service.
- Drive sales, monitor costs, and work towards agreed operational targets and growth.
- Ensure compliance with all health & safety, food hygiene, and licensing standards.
- Handle guest feedback with professionalism, identifying areas for improvement and acting on them.
- Support menu development and promotional initiatives to continually improve the customer experience.
What We’re Looking For
- Minimum 2 years’ experience as a General Manager in a restaurant environment.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to build a cohesive and motivated team.
- A passion for great food and a genuine commitment to guest satisfaction.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities in a fast-paced setting.
- Commercial understanding of cost control, budgeting, and driving revenue.
- Knowledge of food hygiene regulations and industry practices.
Desirable certifications:
- Food Hygiene Level 2 (or higher)
- Fire Safety Training
- First Aid at Work
- Personal Licence Holder
