Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Self Employed Live-in Carer to provide exceptional care and support to an elderly lady living with dementia based in Cambridge. As a live-in carer, you will be an integral part of creating a safe, comfortable, and engaging environment for those in need of assistance with daily activities and specialized care requirements. Duties
- Provide comprehensive personal care, including assistance with bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility to promote independence and dignity
- Prompt with medication intake and document all care activities diligently
- Support clients with assisted living needs such as meal preparation, light housekeeping, and laundry to ensure a clean and nourishing environment
- Manage behavioral challenges with patience and understanding, especially in cases involving dementia or Alzheimer's care
- Offer emotional support and companionship to enhance mental well-being and reduce feelings of loneliness
- Respond promptly to emergencies or urgent health concerns by following first aid protocols and contacting emergency services if necessary
Skills
- Proven experience in assisted living, home care, or caregiving roles with a focus on senior or hospice care
- Strong patient care skills with knowledge of dementia, Alzheimer's disease, and behavior management techniques
- Familiarity with nursing home procedures, medication administration, and nursing practices
- Good communication skills for engaging effectively with clients, family members, and healthcare professionals
- Competence in meal preparation tailored to dietary needs and preferences
- Knowledge of first aid procedures and the ability to respond calmly during emergencies

What we offer:
Pay: £800 per week plus £50 per week food allowance

Requirements:
- Kind, compassionate, and professional approach
- Fluent in English and written English
- Be self employed and have a UTR number or willing to obtain one
- Willingness to live in during placements on a 2 week on 2 week off basis.
- Up to date care training certificates ( if not current, we can arrange training)
Note: This is a self employed role, so you’ll be responsible for your own tax and national Insurance. We’ll support you with training and regular placements.
