Position Overview
We are looking for an organised and proactive Transport Recruitment and Performance Monitoring Officer to support our transport operation by recruiting, onboarding and monitoring drivers to ensure they are fully compliant, well-supported and performing to the standards expected across our delivery network.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong communication skills, excellent attention to detail and a confident, professional approach to working with drivers, assessors and internal teams in a fast-paced logistics environment.
What You Will Be Doing
As a Transport Recruitment and Performance Monitoring Officer, you will play a key role in supporting driver recruitment, compliance and day-to-day operational performance. Your responsibilities will include:
- Interviewing and assessing prospective drivers to ensure they meet company expectations and role requirements
- Scheduling and coordinating driving assessments with qualified Driver Assessors
- Obtaining and verifying driver references from previous employers
- Completing employment background checks, compliance checks and associated recruitment documentation
- Conducting new starter inductions, including eyesight checks, medical declarations and confirmation of Mentor e-learning completion
- Carrying out driving licence verification, entitlement checks and Driver Certificate of Professional Competence (CPC) compliance checks
- Maintaining accurate recruitment records and supporting the onboarding process so drivers are fully compliant before commencing work
- Monitoring drivers’ start and finish times to ensure attendance and adherence to schedules
- Tracking delivery progress and ensuring drivers complete deliveries efficiently and within agreed timeframes
- Liaising with drivers throughout the day to provide support, resolve issues and maintain operational performance
- Working closely with the Customer Service team to investigate and resolve delivery-related issues while maintaining high customer satisfaction
- Ensuring drivers correctly use handheld scanners and follow company procedures for accurate delivery tracking and proof of delivery
- Identifying performance issues and escalating concerns where necessary to maintain service standards
This role is ideal for someone who can balance accurate recruitment administration with real-time operational monitoring, ensuring our drivers are compliant, supported and delivering a reliable service to our customers.
About You
We’re looking for a confident, organised and detail-focused individual who can communicate effectively with drivers, assessors, managers and customer-facing teams.
Ideal candidates will:
- Have experience in transport, logistics, recruitment, compliance or a similar coordination role
- Understand the importance of driver compliance, accurate records and safe working practices
- Be confident interviewing, assessing and communicating with prospective and existing drivers
- Have excellent attention to detail and the ability to complete checks and documentation accurately
- Be able to monitor performance, identify issues and escalate concerns appropriately
- Work well under pressure in a busy transport environment, managing multiple priorities throughout the day
- Be professional, approachable and committed to maintaining high service standards
