NextStep Training Ltd is looking for an experienced tutor to support apprentices with special educational needs (SEN) across England.
Our apprentices often need help with a particular subject alongside difficulties with focus, organisation, confidence, communication or independent study. We are particularly interested in tutors who understand autism, dyslexia, anxiety and other barriers to learning.
You will provide one-to-one tutoring online, in person within our local site in London, or a mixture of both.
About the role
You will plan engaging, personalised sessions around each learner’s needs, strengths and goals.
Your work may include:
· helping apprentices understand challenging topics and fill gaps in knowledge;
· preparing apprentices for their training programme
· adapting lessons for different learning needs;
· supporting revision, organisation, time management and study skills;
· building positive relationships with apprentices and their employers
· providing clear and constructive feedback after sessions.
· We are looking for tutors who are knowledgeable, patient and reliable. You should be curious about why a learner is struggling and willing to adapt your approach rather than expecting every learner to learn in the same way.
Tutors set their own availability and can choose whether to accept each learner.
