Job Summary
We are seeking a 18 - 20 year old, friendly and efficient Barista to join our vibrant team. The ideal candidate will be passionate about delivering excellent customer service and creating high-quality beverages. This role involves preparing a variety of drinks, maintaining food safety standards, and ensuring a welcoming environment for all customers. The position offers an opportunity to develop barista skills within a dynamic café setting, contributing to a positive customer experience.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and serve a range of hot and cold beverages, including coffee, tea, and specialised drinks, in accordance with company standards.
- Ensure all food safety and hygiene regulations are strictly followed during food preparation and service.
- Operate coffee machines, grinders, blenders, and other equipment efficiently and safely.
- Take customer orders accurately and process transactions using the point-of-sale system.
- Maintain cleanliness of workstations, utensils, and equipment throughout shifts.
- Restock supplies as needed to ensure smooth operation during busy periods.
- Provide friendly and attentive service to create a welcoming atmosphere for customers.
- Manage time effectively during peak hours to serve customers promptly without compromising quality.
Experience
- Previous barista experience is essential.
- Knowledge of food safety standards relevant to café operations is desirable.
- Experience in serving customers in a fast-paced environment is advantageous.
- Basic food preparation skills are beneficial for assisting with light food items when required.
- Good basic maths skills are necessary for handling cash transactions accurately.
- Strong time management abilities are essential to prioritise tasks efficiently during busy periods.
