Stepping Stones Montessori Nursery and Preschool – Waverton, Chester
Help us create something special from the very beginning!
Are you passionate about Early Years education, outdoor learning and giving children the freedom to explore, discover and grow?
Stepping Stones Montessori Nursery and Preschool is looking for an enthusiastic Preschool & Forest School Practitioner to join our team and play a key role in setting up and developing our brand-new Forest School provision in Waverton, Chester.
This is a unique opportunity for the right person to help shape the provision from the ground up and make it their own.
Be Part of Something New
As the first practitioner to establish our Forest School provision, you will have an exciting opportunity to help develop the outdoor learning programme, environment and experiences we offer our children.
Working alongside the nursery management team, you will help to:
- Establish and develop our Forest School provision from the beginning.
- Help plan the outdoor learning environment and resources.
- Develop engaging Forest School sessions for our preschool children.
- Create a strong connection between Montessori, preschool and outdoor learning.
- Introduce children to nature, exploration, risk-taking and practical outdoor skills.
- Develop routines, activities and experiences that can grow with the provision.
- Share your ideas, creativity and expertise in shaping the future of Forest School at Stepping Stones.
Your Preschool Role
Alongside developing Forest School, you will be an integral member of our preschool team, providing:
- Warm, nurturing and responsive care.
- Child-led learning experiences.
- Activities that promote curiosity, independence and confidence.
- Support for children's development in line with the EYFS.
- Observations and contributions to children's learning journeys.
- Positive support for children's emotional wellbeing and behaviour.
- Strong relationships with children, families and colleagues.
About You
We are looking for someone who is:
- Passionate about Early Years and outdoor education.
- Excited by the opportunity to build something new.
- Creative, enthusiastic and full of ideas.
- Confident working outdoors in all seasons and weather.
- Able to inspire children through nature and exploration.
- Warm, nurturing and genuinely passionate about children's development.
- Organised and able to take responsibility for developing a new provision.
- A strong team player who is also confident working independently.
- Committed to safeguarding, health and safety and high-quality Early Years practice.
Forest School training or qualification would be highly desirable. We would also welcome applications from an experienced Early Years practitioner who is passionate about outdoor learning and keen to develop their Forest School expertise.
Why This Role Is Different
This isn't simply a Forest School practitioner role.
You will be the person helping us build our Forest School provision from the ground up.
You'll have the opportunity to bring your ideas, experience and personality to the role and help create something that will become an important part of children's experiences at Stepping Stones.
If you've ever wanted the opportunity to shape a Forest School provision rather than simply step into an established one, this could be the role for you.
If you're passionate about preschool education, love the outdoors and are excited by the opportunity to create and lead something new, we'd love to hear from you.
Please send your CV and a brief covering letter telling us about yourself, your Early Years experience and why you'd love to help us establish our Forest School provision.
