Head Chef – Full-Time (38.5 Hours per Week)
Location: Ashfield Nursing Home, Kirkby-in-Ashfield
Hours: 38.5 hours per week – early morning to afternoon shifts
Contract: Permanent
Pay: £13.00

We are looking for an experienced and enthusiastic Head Chef to lead our kitchen team and ensure every meal is prepared to the highest standard.
As Head Chef, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day running of the kitchen, leading and supporting the kitchen team, and ensuring residents receive balanced, appetising meals that meet their individual dietary needs. Plan, prepare and cook nutritious meals for residents, taking into account individual dietary requirements, allergies and modified diets.
Lead, supervise and support the kitchen team to maintain high standards of performance and teamwork.
Develop varied and balanced menus that reflect residents' preferences and nutritional needs.
Ensure compliance with all food hygiene, health and safety, and infection control procedures.
Manage stock levels, place orders and maintain effective control of food costs and waste.

Oversee the cleanliness, organisation and safe operation of the kitchen environment.
Assist with catering for special events, celebrations and themed occasions within the home.
Monitor and maintain kitchen equipment, reporting any faults or maintenance requirements promptly.
We're looking for someone who has:
Proven experience as a Chef or Head Chef, ideally within a care home, healthcare or similar environment.
Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and support a team.
A good understanding of dietary requirements, allergies and specialised diets.
Knowledge of food safety legislation and best practice within a professional kitchen.
Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
A reliable, flexible and proactive approach to work.
A passion for preparing high-quality meals that people enjoy.
Level 2 Food Hygiene Certificate is essential. (Level 3 preferred or willingness to work towards it).
