School Caretaker - Sunderland
Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Caretaker to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing exceptional care and support to individuals in need, ensuring their comfort and well-being. This role requires a strong commitment to maintaining a clean and safe environment, as well as the ability to build trusting relationships with those in your care.
Responsibilities
- Opening and securing the school premises
- Cleaning duties, including toilets
- Performing daily maintenance checks and minor repairs
- Fire alarm testing
- Grounds maintenance
- Managing external contractor visits
- Painting and decorating during school holidays
Requirements
- Previous experience in a caretaker or similar role is preferred but not essential.
- Strong understanding of commercial cleaning techniques and practices.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Compassionate nature with a genuine desire to help others.
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings and weekends if required.
- A valid driving licence may be advantageous for transportation duties.
- Enhanced DBS is required.
