The Hound Hut is a busy, well-established dog grooming salon with locations in Wirksworth and Allestree. Since opening in 2021, we’ve built a loyal customer base through high quality grooming, excellent customer service, and a genuine love of dogs. Following the success of our second salon, we’re looking for an experienced dog groomer to join our growing team.
This is an ideal opportunity for a confident, qualified groomer looking for a flexible role within a friendly, professional salon where quality is valued over rushing through appointments.
We’re looking for someone who:
- Is fully qualified in dog grooming (Level 2 or Level 3 preferred, or equivalent experience)
- Can confidently groom a wide range of breeds to a high standard without supervision
- Has excellent handling skills with dogs of all breeds, sizes, and temperaments
- Takes pride in producing high quality, consistent grooms
- Is friendly, professional, and provides outstanding customer service
- Is reliable, organised, and works well as part of a team
- Is flexible and available to work alternate Saturdays
About the role
You’ll carry out full grooms from start to finish, building relationships with clients and maintaining the high standards The Hound Hut is known for. The role is primarily based at our Wirksworth salon, with occasional shifts at our Allestree or Mickleover salon to provide holiday and sickness cover.
Key responsibilities
- Completing full grooms independently to a high standard
- Assessing coat condition and recommending appropriate grooming styles
- Safely handling dogs of all breeds and temperaments
- Maintaining excellent salon cleanliness and hygiene
- Delivering exceptional customer service from check-in to collection
- Booking appointments, taking payments, and assisting with reception duties when required

- Hours: Flexible, 1 to 3 days per week

- Travel: Reliable transport to both salons is essential
