We are currently forward planning for future roles that may become available as a Mobile Customer Host. If you are successful in your application, you will be placed in our Talent Bank for up to six months. If a suitable opportunity becomes available during that time, you may be offered a role.
Positions may be available as Static or Relief roles, on either a full-time or part-time basis. Static roles offer a consistent shift pattern, giving you visibility of your shifts for the full year. Relief roles provide flexibility, with weekly rosters issued one week before the shift.
Role Details
- You will be working an average of 35 hours per week. This role is shift-based and includes early starts, late finishes, weekends, and bank holiday working. Shifts will take place between 05:30 am and 22:30 pm.
- Locations: this role requires you to cover multiple stations within the South 2 Area, including: Shenfield, Billericay, Wickford, Southminster Branch line, Rayleigh, Hockley, Rochford, Prittlewell and Southend Victoria
- You will need a Full UK drivers licence and hold less than 6 points as this role will require you to travel between out stations via our company car.
- You must be able to arrange your own transport to ensure timely arrival for early and late shifts.
- Applicants must be over 18 years of age
- Employment is subject to Right to Work and DBS checks, and where applicable, a medical assessment
- Starting salary £28,439 per annum, rising to £30,508 after 12 months of service

As a Station Care Team Member, you will work collaboratively with station teams and mobile colleagues to deliver a safe, reliable, and exceptional passenger experience.

Provide passenger assistance to enhance customer experience and address queries
- Make clear announcements using mobile PA systems from platforms
- Providing support to mobility/ visually impaired customers, who may need to hold your arm or lean on you for guidance and assisting them when boarding or alighting from the train. This includes the deployment of ramps and use of the station wheelchair.
- Offer support during service disruptions for safety and comfort
- Perform station upkeep duties, including changing displays, litter picking, and winterisation duties.
- Support train dispatching and undertake other general station duties as needed.
- Report identified station faults, crime and vandalism in accordance with Company procedures.
- Handling and transporting lost property within your area of operation to hub stations in line with company procedures and local instructions.
- Conducting security checks as required.
