Unitrunk Ltd is one of the UK’s leading manufacturers of steel cable management systems with distribution centres throughout the UK. We are currently looking to recruit a Facilities Technician for our Lisburn manufacturing site.
Job Summary:
To provide an effective maintenance, repair and improvement service throughout the Lisburn site to maximise operating efficiency of the companies facilities on site. Assist areas outside departmental duties when required and support the efforts and coordination of site maintenance resource.
Main duties and responsibilities:
- Retrieve, utilise and keep in accessible order technical documentation / records in the engineering library or facilities site maintenance workshop
- Carry out corrective action or repairs on any facility issues, recording any changes where necessary.
- Ensure that spare and supplies levels are controlled and monitored for all facilities requirements. This includes completing purchase orders and negotiating costs with suppliers.
- Contact and coordinate with external contractors for site activities in relation to facilities works and projects.
- Complete & control maintenance logs, schedules, and inspections ensuring compliance with relevant H&S, company and insurance / ISO requirements.
- Carry out both planned and reactive maintenance for the companies buildings, utilities and external site areas.
- Carry out and assist in general site clearing activities when required.
- Regularly report to engineering management and internal customers on issues pertaining to project progress and H&S.
- Coordinate and complete site / asset improvement projects when allocated, managing project phases completion from beginning to end.
- Assist with engineering on varied plant shutdowns & breakdowns when requested.
- Keep areas of the site clean and tidy.
The Person:
Candidates must be competent in manual tasks have high H&S Standards, Good Literacy and numeracy skills and be IT Literate. They should be able to demonstrate past experience of using hand tools and access equipment and have knowledge of Permits to work and Rams documentation. Valid Driving licence is also an essential requirement for this position.
Previous building trade experience whilst not essential would also be desirable along with some knowledge of plumbing and joinery skills.
Always ensuring the highest safety standards, the postholder must be able to operate with a busy, varied and demanding workload through investigating issues and prioritizing effectively. Responsive under pressure and must be able to think on his/her feet. A good team player who will be able to work collaboratively with others and develop good working relationships across the business.
Pay: £13.81-£15.77 per hour
