We’re Missing Bean, an independent specialty coffee company born in Oxford in 2009. Since opening our first café in the city centre, we’ve grown into a family of cafés across Oxfordshire, alongside our own Roastery and Bakery. Now, we’re coming to Maidenhead! We’re opening a brand-new Missing Bean in the Tempo Building – a space that will move from a daytime café serving great coffee and food into an afternoon and evening wine bar. We’re looking for friendly, enthusiastic Baristas / Team Members to join us and be part of the team from day one. Whether you already have experience in specialty coffee or you’re keen to learn, we’d love to hear from you.
Your day-to-day:
- Make and serve consistently great coffee
- Welcome customers and provide friendly, knowledgeable service
- Take orders and confidently talk customers through our menu
- Prepare and serve food and drinks
- Keep the café clean, organised and well stocked
- Work closely with the rest of the team during busy services
- Learn about the coffee we roast and serve.
- Support our afternoon and evening offering, including serving wine and light bites
- Help create a welcoming atmosphere throughout the day
- Get stuck in and support the team wherever needed
About the role:
This isn’t just a standard café opening. Our Maidenhead site will move throughout the day – from morning coffees and breakfast through to lunch, afternoon catch-ups and an evening wine offering. That means we’re looking for people who enjoy hospitality, like talking to customers and are happy working as part of a team in a busy environment. You don’t need to be a specialty coffee expert. If you’ve got the right attitude and genuinely want to learn, we’ll give you full barista and coffee knowledge training. There’ll also be opportunities to learn more about wine, food and the wider side of hospitality as the site develops. Most importantly, we’re looking for people who are friendly, reliable and on it.

- Willingness to learn and develop
- Previous hospitality or barista experience is great, but not essential

Hours:
We’ll have a mixture of weekday and weekend shifts, as well as daytime and evening shifts, so flexibility is important. Full-time and part-time positions available
