Job Summary:
The Head of Operations is responsible for the development and management of residential, supported living and day care/work services for adults with a learning disability, physical disability or mental health support needs
Candidate note: This role is located on the Isle of Man and applicants must either be a resident or hold a work permit at time of appointment to take up the role

About The Role
Key Accountabilities:

Ensure that all work carried out within Praxis Care is people-focused and upholds the principles of respect, privacy, dignity, fulfilment, independence, and choice.

Be available for the people we support to discuss difficulties and act as an advocate, either within the programme or with other agencies. Oversee the development of assessment care plans and reviews on a needs-led individual basis.

Provide effective leadership, supervision, and management of staff, ensuring that all projects within the zone are fully staffed within budget. Manage workloads and identify and address staff development needs.

Assist the Regional Director of Care with project development, initial management, and formulating policies that promote quality care and ensure the rights of the people we support.

Be fully involved in the preparation of annual budgets.

Monitor and make recommendations regarding adjustments to budgets via the accounts system, managing designated services within the allocated finance.

Liaise appropriately with carers, professional staff, voluntary bodies, and community groups to further the clients’ needs.

Participate in committees and working groups as appropriate to the duties of the post.

Criteria:
Education, Experience & Training Qualifications
Essential
-
2 years of experience in a supervisory or management role in a health and social care setting.
Qualification in:
-
Social Work
-
1st Level Nursing
-
Allied Health Profession
-
Level 5 in Leadership for Health and Social Care Services in a relevant pathway
Desirable
-
Demonstrable project management experience.
-
Experience in policy review and refinement.
-
Knowledge of accredited quality systems (e.g., ISO, etc.).
-
Understanding of the legislative and regulatory environment as it impacts care provision in the Isle of Man.
-
Familiarity with the local commissioning and provider environment in the Isle of Man concerning care services for people with learning disabilities and mental health needs.
Skills & Competencies:

Full valid driving licence and access to own vehicle (If a disability precludes an individual from holding a driver’s licence, it should be stated how they can meet the mobility requirement of the post).

Ability to work flexibly.

Must be willing to volunteer for one event per year to assist our service users or fundraising department.

Knowledge and experience of budget management.

4 years of experience in a supervisory or management role in a health and social care setting.
