The Voodoo Rooms is looking for hosting staff for the Fringe! We are a busy independent cocktail bar and live music venue located in the city centre just off St Andrew Square with an extensive back bar with a focus on premium whisky and tequila.
During August we host over 30 Fringe shows each day, and we're open 12pm-3am 7 days a week. We host a huge variety of shows including comedy, magic, cabaret, and burlesque.
We are looking for front of house staff to join our hosting team! As the first point of contact for customers, the hosting team is crucial in both making our guests feel welcome and directing them to the right place. You'll also act as a performer liaison, manage queues, and generally keep the venue tidy. Shifts are usually 8-11 hours between 12pm and 2:30am.
Experience as a host or wait staff is hugely preferred. This role is ideal for wait staff who love customer interaction or anyone with experience in theatres! Your attitude and personality are much more important for the role than any prior experience though; this is a great opportunity for anyone looking to gain experience in a busy but fun environment.
Rate of pay is £12.71 per hour with rolled up holiday pay + tips split via tronc. We also offer all staff a 50% discount on any food and drink, as well as a free staff meal on-shift. You can also get free entry to any of our paid shows through the month.
