Shift Pattern:
Your shift pattern will consist of 4 consecutive working days, followed by 4 consecutive non-working days across Monday to Sunday.
Your working hours will be 12 hours per shift inclusive of a one -hour unpaid break as per the rota provided to you.
A day shift pattern is 6am to 6pm
A night shift pattern is 6pm to 6am

About this Role:
We are seeking a motivated and proactive Shift Team Leaders to join our team.
The Shift Team Leader will oversee daily operational activities during the assigned shift. This role ensures that operations run safely, efficiently, and in line with set targets and quality standards. They will lead the team and resolve issues to maintain a productive work environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and co-ordinate all site operations including Warehouse reception and dispatch, and Energy Centre activities.
- Keep up to date with safety requirements and other legislation.
- Promote a culture of safety awareness among staff and encourage near miss reporting.
- Ensure all site assets and personnel comply with health, safety, and environmental regulations and maintain a clean and safe working environment, always leading by example.
- Conduct risk assessments and implement measures to mitigate hazards.
- Conduct regular safety checks and ensure all incidents are reported and documented through the official channels.
- Investigate site incidents and accidents, using the correct documentation provided by the health and safety management system.
- Support safety training programs and any other training initiatives to develop team members’ skills and knowledge, promote best practices among staff.
- Carry out isolations in accordance with documented procedures.
- Maintain a Safe System of Work through the permit to work (PtW) and lock off, tag off (LOTO) systems.
- Ensure team members are aligned with daily production goals and responsibilities.
- Provide guidance, support, and performance feedback to team members via regular one to one and probation reviews and performance management process.
- Manage absence for the shift, conducting return to work interviews and absence reviews.
- Monitor operational processes to ensure targets are met.
- Inform staff of company updates, new procedures and any other relevant information through pre-shift briefings.
- Allocate staff and equipment resources to optimise operational output.
- Monitor inventory levels of raw materials and co-ordinate with the site management team to prevent shortages.
- Work closely with the Shift Maintenance Technician to ensure the proper maintenance and operation of site assets during the shift.
- Maintain accurate records of operational data e.g. Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) and environmental control levels into the daily KPI dashboard.
- Prepare shift reports and communicate critical information to management and incoming Shift Team Leaders.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement changes in collaboration with management.
- Provide feedback on operational processes to enhance efficiency and quality.

Experience/Qualifications Required
- Supervisory experience – Essential.
- Control systems (SCADA/DCS) interface operation – Essential.
- Familiarity with health, safety, and environmental regulations, including IOSH Managing Safely (or equivalent) – Highly desirable.
- Writing and using PtW systems – Highly desirable.
- LOTO system operational knowledge – Highly desirable.
- Excellent computer skills including the Microsoft Package – Highly desirable.
- NVQ Level 3 in Operations – Desirable.
- Experience in the waste industry or a manufacturing environment – Desirable.
- Working in a fast-paced production environment – Desirable.
- Understanding of lean manufacturing and process optimisation techniques – Desirable.
- Managerial or Supervisory Certification e.g. Institute of Leadership and Management (ILM) or Chartered Management Institute (CMI) – Desirable.
