Provides a focal point with regards to the Ambulance Service National Interoperable Capabilities regarding Special Operations Response Team (SORT), Hazardous Area Response Team (HART) and Command preparedness and training along with wider resilience matters. Achieving an effective and co-ordinated response to adverse events, major incidents and emergencies as defined by the Civil Contingencies Act (2004).
The primary function of the EPRR Bank Instructor role is to deliver training autonomously on behalf of EPRR department, in a subject for which they are considered a subject matter expert.
The post holder will ensure the delivered training is aligned and compliant with related national Interoperable Capabilities contract standards and National Training Information Sheets and associated SOP’s. The training delivery will primarily be focused on technical skills in SORT/ HART Capabilities and Command/incident command.

Responsible for supporting consistent delivery of EPRR training across the South West region.
Providing and receiving complex information using persuasive, motivational, negotiating, skills to aid delivery of training and staff ability to respond to patients in a hazardous environment.
To help design and implement systems that adequately and consistently assesses the understanding and competency of HART/SORT staff.
The postholder will utilise a range of different types of assessment and feedback methodologies. These will include: written exams, oral evaluation, practical assessments and the use of recognised debrief/feedback tools.
Generate reports for staff to support their education and development.
Partake in internal quality assurance processes approved within SWASfT
Assist in the preparation of reports for internal and external assurance.
The postholder will utilise a variety of teaching methods and mediums to effectively impart knowledge and training to learners, in line with the Trusts Student Charter
Ability to select and develop activities, resources and materials which engage HART/SORT staff whilst aligning to NARU training standards.
Ensure the competence and preparedness of SORT/HART staff to enable them to effectively respond and operate within warm zones at incidents.
Support the delivery of Command Training to support the development understanding of multiagency capabilities to SWASfT commanders.
