We are looking for a reliable and hardworking Warehouse Operative / Trade Counter Assistant to join our busy double glazing installation company. The role involves managing warehouse stock, preparing materials for fitting teams, ordering sundry items, and assisting customers at our front trade counter.
You will also be trained in our glass cutting service, including cutting greenhouse glass and other glass products to customer requirements. No forklift licence is required.
Key Responsibilities
- Receiving and checking deliveries of windows, doors, glass units, and materials
- Loading and unloading products safely by hand
- Preparing orders and materials for fitting teams
- Organising and maintaining warehouse stock
- Ordering warehouse and sundry stock items including silicones, trims, fixings, handles, screws, packers, and consumables
- Monitoring stock levels and reporting shortages
- Serving customers at the front trade counter
- Assisting customers with products such as greenhouse glass and glazing supplies
- Measuring and cutting glass to customer requirements (full training provided)
- Checking products for damage or missing items
- Wrapping and securing products for transport
- Keeping the warehouse and shop area clean, tidy, and safe
- Following company health and safety procedures at all times
- Attend installation sites as and when required to assist the fitters with the safe lifting of and handling of frames and glazing OR to assist the surveyor.
- Assisting with and offering holiday cover for the scheduling of jobs
Requirements
- Previous warehouse or trade counter experience preferred but not essential
- Good communication and customer service skills
- Good physical fitness due to manual handling
- Reliable, punctual, and hardworking
- Ability to work well within a team
- Good attention to detail
- Basic understanding of warehouse health and safety
- Experience in the window, door, glazing, or construction industry would be an advantage but not essential

Working Hours
Monday to Friday 7.30am- 5pm
Alternative Saturdays 8am-12pm
Pay: £12.71-£12.72 per hour
