We are looking for an experienced and passionate Sous Chef to join the kitchen team at a beautiful luxury country hotel near Lechlade, Gloucestershire.
This is a fantastic opportunity for a strong Sous Chef who is looking for an excellent work/life balance without compromising on the quality of food they are producing.
The role
Working closely with the Head Chef, you will help lead the kitchen team and deliver high-quality, seasonal food using excellent local ingredients. You will be hands-on in the kitchen, support with the day-to-day running of the operation and step up to lead the team when required.
The work/life balance

You will work 45 hours per week, but how those hours are structured can be discussed around what works best for you.
You could choose to:
- Work all 45 hours across 5 days
- Complete your hours across just 3.5 days
- Work a mixture of straight shifts and doubles
- Arrange a working pattern that suits both you and the business
This could give you up to 3.5 days off every week, offering a genuinely strong work/life balance.
What we are looking for
- Previous experience as a Sous Chef or a strong Senior Sous Chef ready to step up
- A passion for quality, seasonal and locally sourced food
- Experience working in a high-quality fresh food kitchen
- Strong leadership skills and the ability to support and develop a team
- A calm and organised approach during busy service
- Someone looking to build a long-term career within a quality hospitality business
Package
- £40,000 basic salary
- £6,000 guaranteed tronc
- £46,000 guaranteed package
